About the Seminar

The EAC Remote Sensing Working Group have been tasked with creating Guidelines for the Use of Lidar in Heritage Management across Europe. The guidelines will be based on the template of the successful Geophysical Survey Guidelines.

We propose to actively draw together the experience of colleagues across Europe and form a working group to make sure contributions are as relevant as possible to the whole sector. As a starting point in May and June this year we hosted an online survey into the current use of lidar data for heritage management across Europe attracting 105 responses from 29 countries to help us understand the current status and issues faced by the heritage management community.

In the seminar we will introduce the EAC Lidar Guidelines Project, share the preliminary results of the survey and outline our proposal for the guidelines structure and working groups. We want to facilitate active contribution so there will be plenty of time for discussion and suggestions. The outcome of the workshop will be to define the topics to be covered by the guidelines and identify researchers who wish to collaborate on their creation.

If you have any comments or questions please don’t hesitate to contact Rebecca, and we look forward to “seeing” you in July,

Rebecca Bennett
(EAC Lidar Guidelines Project Co-ordinator)
