Once again I have been remiss about posting recently but mostly that’s because I have been sans internet at home since moving last week and so the sneeky late night 5min slots that I need to write here have not been available.
My new digs are in an old house much closer to work, so no more running the gauntlet of Main Street after dark on my bike, though strangely since I moved to just 500 yards from the office I have been later into work every single day. Go figure. The new room is lovely and has an east-facing sun / bike room attached. The light streams through in a very attractive way early in the morning and in time I plan to get a comfy chair and turn it into a reading room. Last weekend I also set to and made some curtains from oddments of fabric found at the scrap exchange, as being typically British as soon as there was sun I wanted shade! Funnily enough, for the second or third time since I’ve been here in NC I really missed having a sewing machine to hand – an item I would never predicted to have been on my list of possessions that would come in darn useful in a foreign country. Might be time to join the Sew-op!
